CASE STUDY
Daniel Skwarna Photography
A clean, high-fidelity digital home built to showcase the personal vision of photographer and artist Daniel Skwarna—seamlessly bridging large-format analog photography, long-form documentary work, and custom generative AI.
Sector: Photography & Generative Visuals
Platform: Custom Wix Studio Website
The Tech: High-resolution galleries, fast image loading, and simple navigation
The Problem: Figuring out how to display traditional analog film right next to modern AI-generated art without the two clashing.
The Solution: A distraction-free, minimalist layout that lets both mediums stand on their own.

The Challenge
Bridging Two Different Worlds
The main hurdle was figuring out how to showcase two completely different mediums in one cohesive portfolio. On one side, you have the slow, physical process of large-format analog photography and long-form documentary projects. On the other, you have the fast, boundary-pushing world of custom generative AI. The challenge was building a space where these two distinct styles could sit right next to each other naturally, without the portfolio feeling disjointed or confusing.
The Medium Clash: Finding a layout that honors the physical grain and texture of handmade film, while also showcasing the clean precision of AI renders.
The Visual Flow: Creating an experience that lets viewers transition smoothly from a grounded documentary series into surreal digital concepts without jarring them.
The Solution
A Blank Canvas Built for the Work
We used Wix Studio to build a stripped-back, minimalist gallery. Instead of over-designing the site, we got out of the way and let the images do the heavy lifting. We removed all the unnecessary menus, text blocks, and flashy animations so the focus stays entirely on the art.
Clean Architecture: A bare-bones, high-impact layout that treats the screen like a physical gallery wall.
Image-First Design: Fast load times and high-quality image optimization so both the analog film grain and the AI details look perfectly crisp.
Equal Footing: Giving the traditional documentary projects and the generative renders the exact same level of care and breathing room.
The Result
A Cohesive Digital Gallery
The final site is a quiet, confident digital home for photographer and artist Daniel Skwarna. It no longer feels like a fragmented collection of different experiments. Instead, it stands as a unified portfolio that proves traditional analog craft and modern AI generation can exist beautifully side-by-side.
Unified Identity: A single, clear creative voice that bridges old and new visual mediums.
Zero Distractions: A seamless viewing experience built purely around the work, free of clutter.
Ready to Grow: A flexible, easy-to-update foundation that can naturally expand as new documentary or generative projects are finished.
